Physical Specs and Compatibility
The E-Machines Ultura LX 12" is a 12" NuBus card compatible with 680x0-based NuBus Macs running up to System 7.5. It is not compatible with PowerPC-based Macs; see Other Notes section below.
Acceleration/Resolution/Color Support
The card provides standard QuickDraw acceleration. Roberto Muscedere reports:
I was just testing one of these and I noticed you would have liked to have some information about it.
Here is what I have for resolutions and refresh rates:
- 1152 x 870 @ 75Hz
- 1024 x 768 @ 75, 60Hz
- 832 x 624 @ 75Hz
- 640 x 870 @ 75Hz
- 640 x 480 @ 67Hz
- 1152 x 910 @ 72Hz
- 1152 x 882 @ 71Hz
I assume this card has 3 megabytes of memory since it was able to go to 1152 x 910 with 24 bits. A quick check of the memory chips (24 MT42C4256 - 256k*4 VRAM), it works out to 3 megabytes.
I've tested this on a Macintosh IIfx with 7.6.1 and it seems to work. The ROM version I have is 2.0.0a
Other Notes
- ROM version 3.0 is required for Power Macintosh compatibility. The ROM upgrade is not available for the 12" version of this card and therefore will not work with PowerPC-based Macs.
