Apple discontinued the 40 GB Apple TV this week and slashed pricing on the 160 GB unit by $100. Several online dealers have not yet updated their pages to reflect the new pricing.

Apple TV makes it possible to buy and rent content from the iTunes Store without any need to use your computer. Apple TV can do it all - it can even access YouTube.

The 40 GB Apple TV can store up to 50 hours of video, and the 160 GB model has room for up to 200 hours. Apple TV does not include a tuner; it cannot be used as a DV-R without the addition of a third-party tuner.

Apple TV can also act as an interface between your personal computer (Mac or Windows) and your digital television or monitor. This lets you view video content on your computer, as well as your iTunes, iPhoto, and Flickr libraries.

Apple TV requires a wired or wireless network with a broadband Internet connection and an enhanced definition or high definition TV or monitor with HDMI, DVI, or component input.
